Lunch & Learn #4: Shared Use in Hospitals and Community Benefit – Oct. 8, 12:30-1:30PM

Hospitals have a role to play in improving the health of their community. Community benefit requirements can be met through shared use policies and agreements that utilize hospital space to provide educational programs for community members, often under-served populations, to better prevent and manage chronic medical conditions. Hospitals can also promote active living and healthy eating by providing access to walking paths, playgrounds, fitness centers, farmers’ markets and other community resources. Join this Lunch & Learn to hear how Ohio hospitals are incorporating shared use into their community outreach, and how one hospital, Mount Carmel West in Columbus, has elevated their impact in the community through shared use agreements.
